Turtles in a cold climate hibernate by burrowing or staying in the water on the bottom below the ice. Their metabolism slows decreasing the expenditure of energy and oxygen . They can absorb enough oxygen through their skin. Tropical turtles do not hibernate.
Frogs and toads burrow and become dormant . I'm not sure if it's classified as hibernation.

Thier blood contains some sort of a chemical, like antifreeze,, They bury themselves in the mud and stuff on the pond/lake bottom. Some their oxygen demand is lowered so they may remain submerged for the duration of winter..........

Yes. Do you think the wild ones go south to hibernate? They need mud to dig into to hibernate not water.
