depending on the year and miles, i would just replace them both if they are both out,. the tie rod, i would call around to a junk yard, for the tie rod, you will save alot of money for sure. The axe (drive axle) is a very important item, that should be replaced asap, if it is out.

If you take it to the shop, the quote for the CV axle will be close to the tie rod replacement quote. The reason being that when you replace the tie rod, you have to have an alignment afterward so that you do not cause excessive wear to your tires.

Actually its going to be pretty close to the same. The real issue is that a Tie Rod can be a safety issue because if it fails, that wheel is no longer connected to your steering - and all that implies.

If the CV axle joint fails, you'll be stuck but you can control the vehicle until you get to the side of the road.

hmmmmmmmm let me think the axle we be VERY costly to replace unlike the tire rod ends poss prices
tire rod end ? £6.49
axle ? £100.00 to £250.00
and that is about the price with out laber.

i would go with the cv axle replacement then all you drive mechanisms is new
