Just wondering what kind of speed per minute I'd be getting. I live like five seconds away from the nearest Telephone Exchange. Thanks very much.

Network speeds are stated in bits per second. 16Mb is 16 megabits per second. Your throughput will probably be less, often much less.

1. First of all, Although I'm not 100% positive(more like 98%), It's most likely 16Mb, Not MB. Check again and make sure. Almost all providers use Mb rather then MB though its possible yours is truly talking MB.
MB is a Megabyte, and Mb is a Megabyte. A megabit is 1/8th of a MB, so thats a 16Mbps, or a 2MBps connection.
It's almost always measured in Mb, and per second. So if you were downloading from a server at 2MBps, assuming the server is fast enough to keep up with that, then you could download a 120MB file in one full Minute.

I think you will get full 16 Mbit/s, in cases there is no network congestion. 60*16 Mbit/s /8 - you will be able to download 120 MByte each minute.
