It depends on the shoes in general. If you are into brands, then be prepared to spend between $2000-$4000 (even though you didn't state the child's age). If you are just looking for something simple then you can probably get a pair for about $800-$1200 depending which store you visit.

Let the cost of each shoe be x and that of socks be y. So, x + y = 110 --- --- ---(1) Since, the shoe cost 100$ more than socks, x = 100 + y --- --- ---(2) Substituting x in eq.(1) from (2): 100 + y + y = 110 100 + 2y = 110 2y = 10 y = 5 x = 100 + y [from (2)] =100 + 5 = 105 x=105 and y=5 => Each shoe will cost 105 dollars and each socks would cost 5 dollars. HOPE THIS IS OF SOME HELP

Jamaican Sneakers

This might or might not answer your question, but things in Jamaica cost about as much there as they do in the US. The problem is that Jamaicans earn almost no money and the country is in dire poverty. Many visitors to the island bring items like shoes, school supplies, etc. to give away there. Resorts are used to accepting such items and know where to distribute them. Jamaicans have an incredible need for such things but cannot afford them.
