I actually work at Lowes, and I have to say, it's the most miserable place ever to work.
I think the big difference between the two is that:
A, Lowes caters to the home improver, whereas Home Depot caters to contracters
B, Lowes is national, whereas Home Depot is a worldwide
C, Lowes is way more obsessed with customer satisfaction... to the point where it's overboard sometimes.
But they really are basically the same thing.

Lowe's only because I haven't been to the new Home Depot even tho it's been open for a year. Lowe's is also closer to my house.

Lowes by far, the Home Depot here is pretty small and dosent have alot compared to the lowes, plus Lowes is right next to Wallmart.... cant beat that combo ;)

i have found where i am that they tend to help you more at lowe's rather than home depot. but that may not be the case everywhere. as far as what they sell etc they are about the same

Lowes has nicer employees. At Home Depot, they're all just talking on their cell phones, and couldn't care less if you need help or not.
