Baby does tend to move much less in the last few weeks of pregnancy, mainly because there is less room to move.
You may also not be able to feel it as much if baby's spine is facing outwards - - if this is the case, then his/her arms and legs are facing your insides, and its thus harder to detect movement.
But above all, follow your instinct. Some midwives recommend drinking a glass of orange juice (because it is high in sugar) and paying attention to see if movement increases (generally it does). If you are generally concerned, remember - momma knows best. Your doctor can easily put your mind at ease or get down to the bottom of it if you are really worried.

It's true that the baby has much less room now to move freely about. But the change should not be lots different from the few days before.
Call your doctor. He will ask you some questions and then determine if you need to come in for an ultrasound or some tests.
If you don't know whether or not you should call, try this: Lay down in a comfortable position and pay attention to how many times you feel the baby move in the next hour. Don't push on your stomach......let the baby move on it's own. If it's less than 9 times, call your doc, and if he's not concerned, go to the ER & tell them you want at least a doppler done to hear the heartbeat.
Get as much rest as you can; sounds like you'll need it. Congrats on the impending arrival.

Babies do not move as much towards the end because they simply have no room left! She also might be sleeping. Do you know how to do a movement test? Drink a glass of water or juice and lie on your left side and count how many movements you feel in an hour. If you don't feel movement get up and do something active like a brisk walk. Lay down on your left side and try again. You should feel the baby move. If you don't contact your doctor or midwife. Don't worry your baby is most likely fine and soon you will see your baby face to face. Congratulations on your little blessing.

First, drink ice cold water and lie on your left side. If you don't feel anything within 30 minutes, please go to labor and delivery to be monitored. I had the same thing happen with my first son. I was 12 days from my due date and I didn't feel him for several hours. By the time I got to L&D, he had passed away. The cord was wrapped around him very tightly 3 times. Since, I have had 3 healthy babies, but the nurses in L&D never questioned me when I came to be monitored with them. Never question decreased movement like that. Yes, its true that babies have less room in the final weeks and move less, but if you haven't felt the baby move, you should be monitored. I hope that your baby is very healthy and that everything turns out okay.

Seems like you are getting the standard answers.
I have four children, and something similar happened to me with the last one. I ended up having my husband take me to the hospital...bettter safe than sorry. Once I got there, they had me drink some cold water and lay on my left side. Within about 10 minutes the baby was moving around like crazy. You could try this at home.
But, please, if you are worried, call the hospital. They are always glad to talk to you or have you come it. If you go it, it can also serve as a trial run for the real thing!
Good luck!

Hopefully it's just because she is running out of room to move around...however, I'd go ahead and call the doc. I believe there's a test to do...you lay on your left side and count the number of times the baby moves in an hour's time. There should be at least 10 movements during that time. If not, then you need to call your doctor.
Good luck!

With both my pregnancies the babies stopped hopping around a few weeks before I delivered. They run out of room and are kind of cramped so they can't move a lot except try and push their way out! If you're worried go in and have an ultrasound.

there is not too much room.
If you have questions or concerns, that's why you pay all that insurance. Call . Call. if there is not a problem, let them tell you. but if you are in doubt, you should just call. It may be nothing. but they get calls often when it's just nothing. they are use to it. Let them tell hook you up to a fetal monitor and hear the baby's heartl so you know there is nothing to be worried about. I know you are going to the clinic once a week now, but if you are concerned, I would still call. Congradulations on your baby boy, girl, twins, or whatever you'll have.

Well alot of times babies decrease movements to store up energy for the exhausting process of birth. If your baby is particularly big (like a 9 or 10 pounder) it may be she is cramped and has settled into a comfortable position to get ready to be born.
At any rate, I would address your concerns to your OB; they will be able to ascertain what the situation is. Worrying does not help you or the baby; call ASAP!

That is totally up to you. If you dont feel comfortable with it give them a ring and they might get you to come in for a CTG monitor.
Im 38wks pregnant and my bub is no longer moving. He just pokes and prods me during certain times of the day...but not much.
Just call the hospital, it is normal for there to be less movement especially in the last few weeks. But nothing is worse than not knowing. Just give them a ring, it wont hurt.
