Out of the huge diversity in Greece's culture, what is the biggest thing that sets it aside from the rest of the world?

The obvious answer would be the ancient civilization stuff which is true.
But the fact that theres so many centuries of different history there from Greek to Italian, Turkish, Mycenean, Egyptian, and a ton others make it unique. It is the diversity itself that makes it unique. Greecian history is a huge combination of all these cultures mixed together to create this one unique culture. The food, good times and great beaches make it something you will never forget

The way the people live their lives and their unique personalities! They know how to live and make the utmost of it. Most of the Greeks don't like to follow a career that would require too much of their time. They would prefer to spend that time with their loved ones, relaxing and having fun.
Greeks are also easily offended if you talk bad about their country because they have fought too many wars to keep their land and their culture and whoever offends them brings out an emotional outburst! Unfortunately many these days have tried to use the Greek history to make movies but they have destroyed every aspect of it that they have touched. Hollywood and Greek ancient spirit has nothing to do do with one another.

It's the people and their way of life that makes Greece so unique. That and the FOOD. :) Greece has dual personalities in that it's one of the most historic places on earth and yet people there don't sweat it. You get best of both worlds in Greece. Whether you're sitting on the most beautiful beaches or your discovering the history.

The ancient remains, like Acropolis, the really beautiful Greek archipelago, the Greek people, the food and of course the retsina wine as well as ouzo that somebody mentioned, just great! You really have to travel to Greece to understand how great and interesting that country is!

ancient civilization, Alexander the Great and the word 'filotimo" that doesnt exist in any other language and it means to be honest, fair, well-mannered.
It also means that when somebody does you a favour or something good you feel that you have to pay him back without being asked.
