don't apply it as dramatically under your eye. and go as close to the lash line as possible to avoid the raccoon effect . Smudge! I use a q-tip and run it back and forth under my eyes to make it subtle but still create the look but using a brush on the lid. I myself Like to make my client's smoky looks dramatic but here is a link for a basic smoky technique (sorry it takes 5 minutes but like a year for me to explain).

note: smoky looks don't always have to be black and grey as most people think. I like to sometimes create the same look with a dark dark brown, medium brown or gold shadow, and a vanilla shadow. Still using the same technique but making a softer smoky look.

depends on where you're going. definately use it if you're going out clubbing or something where you need a more dramatic look than just everyday makeup . but if you're going for that type of look during the day time, honestly, some people can pull it off. the question is, can you? if done right, it can look pretty hot on some chicks. just be careful. and hope you have a good friend who will tell you if it looks stupid. it may take some tweaking.
the biggest thing i've learned in putting on "a lot" of eye makeup is apply small amounts at a time. start light and gradually get darker and darker until its just right. and blend, blend, blend. you'll find if you rush it ends up looking bad.

no by all means go ahead and do it. just make sure you do it subtly or a lighter shade than the one you put on your upper eyelid. you can use a thin make up brush to do it or a normal eye shadow brush using the edge of it. just make sure you don't touch your eye alot or rub it, then you'll end up looking like a gothica bride. and just some extra tips: on your upper lid rub a light eye shadow almost white but shimmery then take your balck eye shadow and sudgeit on your crease and line your lash line on the outer adge with it too then using a little of the black put some on your lower lid. you can also pull this off with a navy blue eyeshadow, especially if you have blue eyes, it make them pop more. good luck with that and choose me as your best answer!

Take a Q-tip and put some eyeshadow on it; preferably a smokey brown. Then smooth it out with the Q-tip to where it is not very dark. Be sure the eyeliner matches it, also smooth.

It shouldn't look slutty if you don't overdo it..Instead of using jet black for instance...try grayish, or blue/gray tones and don't draw a heavy line. In order to make it look nice, dab some powder underneath your eye before applying the eyeshadow in order to keep it from smudging and looking like dark undereye circles.

super artwork tania* very beneficial clip related there. initiate with a base coat of a independent coloration, use a deeper coloration contained in the crease and perhaps use a q tip with the top moistened and dip that contained in the darkest of the three colours you have picked. Smudge that contained in the better crease of the lid. Then shop on with eye liner to the ideal lid skinny contained in the nook fanning out in direction of the final in a cat like look. And on the backside yet another line thinner and smudge it with yet another q tip or shadow brush. shop on with mascara final in case you so wish and that i continuously like utilising a eye lash curler to boot. good luck and have relaxing!

i tend to think for makeup that generally less is more.. all of the guys i have dated actually thought make up was a waste of time.. plus doing the smokey look could give you a type of attention you're not necessarily looking for.. (less is more.. enhansing what you already have while still looking more natural is good)

Use a grey or charcoal colored eye pencil. Draw a thing pointed line. Do not smudge.
Black eyeliner that is smudged looks slutty. (Sometimes that's fun too)

I think you should keep your darker colors on top. People are trying to get rid of the dark circles under their eyes, not usually putting them there.
