NO! i thought it was totally awesome for a sequal!!!!! i mean come on! they had to make a second one before they could go to the third. this is just the in-between movie that has to get all the stories started again and then just leave you hanging at the end so that you'll see the next one (and it really worked cause i sooo can't wait to see the next one). although, i must agree, it is boring at some points. some scenes seemed kinda slow for the movie. and yes, it was rather long...but just remember: they're making a third one and this is just the opener! ;)

thank god somebody on here finally agrees.everyone I know feels as I/we do but I asked a similar ? here when it came out and the replies were almost solid disagreements with me.
for me the problem lies in the direction it took or left off from.cursed gold and ghost pirates work very well, I buy it.it fits in the theme of the 1st movie. with the second one its hello mr squid head and his freak half animal crew, I don't buy it. though it may make no sense in this context, I find it unrealistic and corny. davey jones is a folk legend that could have been very cool but they decided to go the jar-jar route.

Dead Man's Chest was basically a retelling of the first story. Something my younger sister gets upset at me for saying. Think about it, though. An immortal being is after Jack Sparrow and wants him dead or captured, and the villain is with his evil crew of the undead. There was a lot of similarity between the two seperate crews, and I don't like it when things are made deliberately gross, because I roll my eyes at it.

i like totally agree....the second one showed way to much of those icky monsters and not enough of Jack,Will,and Elizabeth,plus the second left you hanging and what was the deal when Captain Baboosa showed up at the end i mean he died in the first by C.Jack,weird.

#2 was awful. There was no story at all. Too many unbelievable stunts. And too many bad guys that looked just like the bad guys in the first movie.
