i am going to my brothers fireman christmas party and im not too big on dressy shoes, would it be ok to wear chucks.

I don't think it would be weird at all as long as the rest of your outfit was semi-formal. Just don't go wearing sweatpants, a hoodie, and your chucks. If you're dressed up, I doubt any of the guys will even notice that you're wearing chucks, and if they do, they'll probably think it's cool.
There's nothing worse than standing around a party in a pair of uncomfortable shoes.

man, i wore chucks to prom!!! hell yeah they are so cute. i own every pair imaginable. you will be the most comfortable person there. i hate heels im very tall and i live i chucks. to make em llok nice i just went and bought a new blck& white pair, i was so proud of them. they went well with the formal look. semi-formal should be just fine just make sure they're clean and lookin cute. everyone will say something. mostly they wish they were wearing them. good luck with ur party

I think that if you pulled them off the right way, they would be OK. But I still think that it's sort of dissing your brother because it's like saying "this party isn't good enough for me so I'm not even going to try to look good." It wouldn't kill you to look nice for something for your brother job.
