WEED in the privacy of my own home? Marijuana is medicinal, been used for thousands of years, is a natural plant which is banned. If people can smoke cigarettes in the privacy of their home, causes far more damage to them and everyone else with tar heavy toxic chemicals, even exposing their small children to it as they gasp for air and eyes water,
Why can't a grown adult enjoy one joint in the privacy of his bedroom at night?
What is this, communist Russia? Does the government have ANY right to tell someone they can't ingest a drug which has never killed one person EVER? When people can get as many abortions as they want legally, can waste their money on cigarettes, kill themselves, drink till they poison themselves.
But the most benign of all drugs is demonized and you are looked at as a criminal.
The drug war causes FAR more damage than it prevents.

football fan: I am in perfect consistancy. Only spend it if you have it to spend.
Did I not say in my question what people do with cigarettes and alcohol and their children? You're the effin fool,
why don't you attempt to actually comprehend the question, that is, If you have that capability.
And no, I DON"T think that if you are poverty stricken you should be spending over $3000 a year on cigarettes, does that make sense to you? Not if you're an idiotic ivory tower liberal. Take responsibility for your actions. and drugs should be classified accordingly. Next time, READ THE QUESTION!!!!!!

I think the main problems are taxing. There are other problems such as being high at work. It's real easy to hide being intoxicated with pot, but at the same time I have never really heard of any accidents because of it either.
I'd say it's an insurance companies fault as well. They bit*ch and cry abvout having to pay someones dues even though we pay more into them than what we'll ever get out of them. There is no real way to know how long ago you were intoxicated on pot when you get a urine screen. They made the official rule that if you have any alcohol in your system, even after a night of drinking, and your blood/alcohol content is still above legal limits you are still considered intoxicated, yet a chronic smoker can quit and have a large quantity of THC in their system up to 2 weeks after smoking.
It's really a control issue, but it's a control issue that I think they should take under their wing, cause as of now they have no control over marijuana.
People have a million more problems because of alcohol than they do with pot. Pot is mentally addicting... Oh, so what, cry about it. That's all you will do if you don't have pot, but if you were to quit cold turkey after drinking hard for say 5 years... It could kill you because of withdrawel.
People complain because they think people will spend all their money on pot and have to collect welfare, but anyone who is a chronic drinker and cigarette smoker will do the same thing.

Most laws/rules that are made dont help everyone and dont apply to everyones situation. I think the thing to remember is that if you dont like a rule/law your goverment/person above you has made you should do your best to get it removed/changed. By going out and breaking the rule/law you our basicaly saying that the person above you is no longer in that place and they will probably not like this action and take some action to stay in the position of athority. So this basicaly if your unable to get the law/rule changed then you have to factor in as much as possible the pros/cons of breaking it and be willing to deal with the cons if caught doing so or what to do when you reap the rewards of not being caught.
Also your claim that any person taking a drug like maryj has never killed one person ever is highly unprovable and probably false. I do however agree with you on the fact that drinking and smoke'n should be banned totaly and we should rename the country to brother Russia. Also stupid people should be banned from existing because it is the right of smart people... Am I beginging to sound a lil morronic now? I hope so.

I had a talk on this topic during my weekly poker game last night. 4 of the guys I play poker with are cops.
all 8 of us agreed unanimously that pot should be legalized and prepackaged for sale in liquor stores. The tax then should be used to pay for a national health plan taking the bite out of medical costs.
Growers should be licensed and those license fees go towards higher education.
Packagers should be licensed and those fees used to pay for driver awareness classes and free car seats for children.
The textile industry should be able to buy the plants after harvest for hemp clothing and materials.
All people arrested, charged, convicted and imprisoned for Marijuana possession, that did not commit violent crimes, should be released from prison. This would give room for real criminals that should stay in prison.
It could be made a win win situation all the way around.

No, it's not communist Russia. More like 1930's Germany....
And while another distinguished poster has stated, Weed is the first drug of most drug addicts. I wonder if they were also aware that all axe murderers are born before they become axe murderers?

... I agree with you... it's silly...
but, let's look at it like this... the same people that believe pot is bad, do so because they think that people who smoke pot "are irresponsible and don't ever do anything and that it will lead to harder drugs"... which for the most part is incorrect... they don't know what they are talking about...
but you were talking about how all poor people smoked and drank...
so, basically, the people that are making the decisions don't know about what they are talking about, just like you don't know about the poor... they are making snap decisions on personal observations and generalizations that are blatantly wrong overall...like you did about the poor

Holy crap I agree with something you said. Nice. I knew everyone had to have something they could agree on.
Right on by the way it should be legalized.
EDIT: Wow so much hate for weed, I have never seen anyone get high on weed and beat the crap out of their kid, but I have seen someone drink a fifth of vodka and beat the crap out of their wife and kids.
