i have a problem with physics and plzzz help by reading my question. tell me how to find out and which formula do i have to use.

Take the general case of an object of mass (ma) and velocity(va) elastically striking a stationary(vb=0) object of mass (mb) head-on.
a). show that the final velocity (va') and (vb') are given by : va'=(ma-mb/ma+mb)va
vb'=(2ma/ma+mb)va.
b). what happens in the exrem case when (ma) is much smaller than (mb)? Cite a common example of this.
c). what happens in the exreme case when (ma) is much larger than (mb)? Cite a common example of this.
d). what happens in the case when (ma=mb)? Cite a common example.

part A is just manipulation of a formula. You should find this in any physics texts.

Part B: if ma is much smaller than mb then ma will go in the opposite direction with its same velocity. Imagine a ball hitting a wall and boucing back. The wall does not seem to move and the ball returns with its initial velocity.

Part C: If ma is much larger than mb then ma will continue to move at va. Imagine a bull running into a fly. The bull will not be affected but the mass or velocity of the fly. That is assuming the bull is at constant velocity va.

Part D: If the masses are equal then then all the momentum is transferred to the second object.Just look at your formulas and plug it.

Hope this helps.

Update::
I just saw the end of your question...ok part a is found by something you should have went over in class. Ok start with the conservation of momentum: mava+mbva=mava'+mbvb' . this should help.

nicely, the elements named are all pointing to an identical theory: the potential for an infection in higly populated elements with low hygiene and the potential for spreading illnesses the international over because of human beings vacationing. you need to be in a position to make some thing out of that. in case you may't write it on your own language first and then translate it. good luck

if ma is smaller, mb will go with opposite direction. and vice versa
