They would have had to perform a specific test to see if you're pregnant or not, and it doesn't sound like they did. They look for protein in your urine, and, again, this will only show if they are looking for it, not if they are checking for a urinary tract infection.

Urinalysis does detect pregnancy, but, it has to be done in a lab. The test done in front of you was probably checking for blood in your urine which is a sign of a urinary tract infection.

a urinalysis analyzes urine bacteria, blood, specific gravity, whether there is sugar in the urine, and color and clarity...She would have to do a specific test for pregnancy, like the little sticks you get at the store or a blood test to know if you are pregnant. Now if the two of you talked about changes and symptoms she could make an educated guess, but no real results without specific test.............................

No, if the urinalysis was for a UTI, it would test for infection, kidney function, diabetes, liver function, etc. It's not impossible she could run a pregnancy test in addition to a UA-- for example, if you mentioned breast tenderness, nausea or a missed period. But she probably would have asked if it was possible you were pregnant before running the test. If she did test, and found you were pregnant, she definitely would have mentioned it.

No, simply she isn't giving you a test for that. A urinalysis doesn't cover everything. In the lab a urinalysis could be run for a hundred things, you can't pee that much, do you think one shot covers all? she'd have to give you a test for pregnancy that's seperate.

No, she would not have been able to tell unless she specifically did a pregnancy test. They are looking for different things when they look for infections.

not unless she did a urine pregnancy test. a regular urinalysis tests only for certain things and pregnancy hormone is not one of them.
