I believe they have the year wrong. They are probably referring to the Aztec astronomical calendar which predicts the world's end in 2012. Unless you are an Aztec, I wouldn't worry.
On the other hand, Bible prophecies predict a time of great turmoil and geological upheaval which will end this Earth age. What is prophesied after that is the return of Jesus Christ to rule over a peaceful, restored Earth for at least a thousand years. Because so many Biblical prophecies have already been fulfilled, these ancient writings are far more believable.

Lots of "End of The World" predictions have come and gone...over and over again...this one will come and go like the rest...
Don't worry, sweetie, these fear mongers who try to fill your head full of such things always have some sort of ulterior motive and don't have all their pistons firing, if you know what I mean. As well, as each "date of World Death" passes, they always grow really quiet or make excuses when the sun rises once again and the world carries on as usual...
Life is too short to worry about such things...(if you're young and someone is trying to scare you with this...it's called emotional bullying and is done by cowards)...spend your time with people that are going to help you live life to the fullest and be the happiest you can be...carpe diem (sieze the moment) sweetie....

Well, this rumor, or whatever you'd like to call it, was started because the Mayan calendar ends on December 21st, 2012 A.D. It's a very scary thought. The Mayans were able to predict star patterns and where the planets would be thousands of years into the future. They had a calendar depicting all of this, and were very, very accurate. So why would they pick this day to end their calendar? Part of me is very superstitious, and I kind of believe it. It freaks me out a bit.

No one knows for a fact when the earth will end. The earth itself will not cease to exist, but the earth as we know it will end. Jesus will come back for his followers one day, and send non-believers to the lake of fire. Then we will all live happily ever after for eternity. its like a wonderful fairytale exept for the lake of fire people. They will live in agony and pain for forever.
