Hello,

Yes you do...

Insert from a site:

With Metro PCS, you have to purchase the phone for full price. Metro PCS does not discount its phones because you do not have the responsibly of being under a contract. As for buying a Metro PCS phone off e-bay or another third party (like a friend) I would HIGHLY discourage that because:

1. You will miss out on the 1 year warranty that comes with all Metro PCS phones for everything except for Water Damage, Lost and Stolen phones (that is a separate insurance) unless you are the party that signed up for Metro PCS with the same phone you brought with your service with Metro PCS.

2. Metro PCS has one of the BEST upgrade and buyback programs in the industry. You can upgrade at anytime and you receive between $30-$50 bucks off the price of a new phone (depending on how long you kept the phone....the longer the better) within the first 12 months of purchase.

So upgrade your Metro PCS phone at will, get a decent buyback price discount on your new phone. Not a bad deal, huh????
