I was watching American Rewind tonight, and just decided to do a little reading upon all the winners, and discovered they were all Christians. Even quite a few of the runner ups were Christian as well.

Yes Yummy, Rueben and Clay are both Christians. In fact, they're very active in church and have spoke often of their beliefs. To those who say it's because we live in a Christian based society, and most christians are voting. I'm not so sure I agree. There are different reality shows on television that have to do with modeling, dancing, ect, and most winners rarely say they're christian, but will admit they embrace several new age or pagan religions, or consider themselves "spiritual" rather than religious or Christian. So I thought this observation was surprising.

I have never watched American Idol but your question interests me. The music business is not exactly run by the devil himself but he does have many many foot soldiers who are pretty much in charge. Been there and seen them myself. Maybe there is a high number of God fearing Christians on American Idol because they are trying to avoid the devil's foot soldiers and thereby creating a high percentage of Christians to choose from as the winners and runners up. American Idol is a good way to skip alot of steps in the ladder of the music industry.

The contestants are American, and there is lot's of Christians here in the US so there is a higher chance that the winner of AMERICAN Idol, is a Christian. Why does it matter? It's not like they purposely pick them to because they are Christian ... we are the one's who vote for them and maybe some Christian Americans do vote for the Christian ones to win, but what can we do about that? That's just how it is these days if some people do that.

No, I never noticed that. Were Ruben Studdard and Clay Aikin Christians, too?

I just saw a magazine cover with Katherine McPherson on it skimpily clad in a red negligee open in the front so half of her breast show and low cut panties. Do you still want to say that?

maybe because the most popular religion of america is christianity so the people who vote are christian, and the people who win are christian. you're probably never going to see a jewish, muslim, indian (etc) winner because unfortunately people are racist and vote only for people who have the same religion has them.

Maybe that's because Christians like to sing more than people of other religions.

Oh my god! Did anyone else notice that since this contest is based in the US, and the US is almost entirely Christian, that it's base would be likewise!?

WOW you are astute!
