Hi, recently my car has not been holding oil pressure well and when I went to put in more oil, I noticed that there is a substantial crack on the right side valve, and the area has some oil on it. Is it completely unsafe to drive with the car like this? I need to pick a family member up from the airport tomorrow...

Maybe it is not the valve, but there is something that is noticeably cracked and the area has oil around it.

As long as you have 5 psi of oil pressure you can drive it. But you are taking a chance.

you must mean the rocker.you cant see the valves.if its a rocker, then its not hard to fix.just take off the valve cover and get 1 out of the junk yard and replace it,just make sure its adjusted like the others.

If you drive it more, it will just get worse. Get it towed to a shop for repairs. It could lock up and/or explode. Why risk it? Rental cars are cheap enough if you just need to rent for a day.

Driving it with the symptom you describe will definitely result in engine failure, it it hasn't failed already. Be prepared to pay a couple thousand dollars for the repair.

an engine has to be taken apart to determine if a valve is cracked. get another opinion on that one dear.

If you can afford expensive car repairs, then drive it. I would recommend using another vehicle for the trip and get yours repaired.
