WHY did the US government get rid of the free cheese they used to hand out?

I don't know but it made some fire a$$ grill cheese sandwhiches. And no that is not the cheese that you can get off wic vouchers, that is a different cheese Kraft never made goverment cheese. You cant find it because the goverment found out that it was the bomb and started keeping it for themselves. I bet everybody is the white house done had a grill cheese or a bowl of mac & Cheese made with that Gov. Cheese.

Not sure..but there could be several reasons.

1. Food stamps are a lot easier to distribute and control than 5lb blocks of american cheese food.

2. Cheese is very expensive now.

Government cheese always made the best grilled cheese sandiwches. I wish that stuff was still around, that big 5 pound box of nasty cheese. I loved that crap.

I remember that!! It was in a box I think that weighed 5 pounds, that was the bomb!! I don't know why they stopped giving it out, but I grew up on that, it tasted like Velveeta. Mmmm. :)
