There has been a cover-up. Not some dramatic one like Watergate. Just they didn't want this to leak out because it would look bad that the Princess of Wales had a drunk driver. It looked better in the press to blame the Paparazzi. But when the driver was drunk, that puts him a lot of fault. Someone of her distinction should not have had a drunk driver (not should anyone, but I digress)

Although it took 10 years to confirm what we already new, we as a society seem to get a charge of not believing something that is easily determined. If we take into consideration all the other accidents that were caused by drivers who were under the influence, we quickly learn that a determination of the cause is done in months, sometimes weeks, not years. The only time an ending to an otherwise sad and tragic accident is when a payout of insurance is invovled. And that isn't because the courts are trying to figure out if the driver was drunk or not, it's the insurance companies protesting the amount of monies to pay the families that were involved.
Since this isn't the case in the tragic death id Lady Diane, the question is not "Did it really need to take that long?" the question should be asked "Why did it take that long?" It's not up to the public to answer the question because it's a simple answer of NO it shouldn't take that long. The men and women involved in the report should be made to give the public their time-line of when and how they came to this long drawn out conclusion. They should be accountable for the time spent on this inquiry.
If this were your daughter, wouldn't you want to find out WHY it took so long and not be asked "Did it really need to take this long?".
My heart goes out to the famlies of all involved, especially the survivor, because, if it the death came to a "regular" citizen the charge of impaired driving would of been made within weeks and the case would of been closed in a timely fashion. But since it was Lady Di, the need to have it linger was overtaken by the need for true justice.

Princess Diana's death was a accident or not, no one knows.. but why is the goverment so interested in it all of a sudden? if they did all this tests when diana died it would have been more usefull than doing it today. and how can anyone believe that what they said when princess diana died wasn't true but what they are saying now is true? why will public believe, and why. when everyone wanted to know there was only one answer " it was an car accident". if the british intelligence is that smart to fugure that the blood sampel has been taken from someone else why didn't they go to the depth of matter than. i personally think dissolve the matter here. don't try to bring in past cuase no one actually knows what is the truth to this story. and never will cause this truth wont bring back the lost one! princess diana that is.

It's a make work investigation. No - it didn't need to take 10 years. Only an educated or government institution would be so lazy or complacent to take 10 years to fully investigate someone like Diana and their death. Or maybe downright hatred. Otherwise - it's just make work or something to carry some bloke through life and give them something to do. Anyone doing an investigation at this stage of the game in their life is only doing it because they can or maybe they have thought up a hundred and one reasons why doing this investigation will be valuable. Who knows? Who really cares? One thing we know for sure - To keep painting a mosaic keeps the picture it portrays - alive. Keeping the mystical mosaic of it all alive is a good thing. That is what life is anyway.

I believe it took 10 years to finish the investigation so they can had enough time to erase any material evidence that will point the finger to any foreign agency involved in the plot or any other plots that may have followed in case Diana survived the presumed accident. We only know that the U.S. intelligence agencies were eavesdropping on Diana , for whatever reason, and god only know how many other agencies were out there doing the same thing.

They stated that Henri Paul was drunk right after his autopsy was performed. Mohammed Al-Fayed has been burying that little gem because Mr. Paul was his employee and he would be liable in the event of a wrongful death suite. I do think one was filed, can't remember for sure though. Mr. Fayed has kept this in the press because he is angry with Britain for not giving him a British passport, so every once and a while he sticks his thumb in they eye of the royal family. Maybe it makes him feel better-I think it makes him look an a**!

Maybe because of the importance of the claims being made. It might have been a really big investigation, and the results of the investigation have wide ranging implications, so they took their time to make sure things were done properly. Also, many questions were raised regarding the deaths - so it may have taken a long time to find plausible and concrete answers to these claims.

The autopsy 10 years ago proved he was drunk at the time of her death.
But rehashing it in the news reminds people to be more careful, especially during the holidays where drinking is done.
It sends the message out to everyone that drinking and driving kills, and not just the driver who chose to drink and drive.

There is a lot more than just a drunk driver in ths case! She could have been taken straight to the hospital too, but instead they drove around ... there is a huge conspiracy & cover-up here. it is all so sad, she was a great lady who was treated poor by her husband & his family ... she deserved happiness and she never got it ...
