I'm guessind that's the lead role, because her name is the same name as the play, but my girlfriend just wants to know what the play is about, and what is her character like, and does she have a lot of lines.
Thanks!

Congrats to your girlfriend! Yes, Annie's the lead role. She's a spunky orphan who's put into the lap of luxury, then struggles to stay there. I suggest that you rent the movie "Annie". It won't be exactly like the play, but you'll get a pretty good idea. I'm sure you can get it through Netflix or Blockbuster Online, if your local movie rental place doesn't have it (they probably won't - it's an older movie).

Good luck & break a leg to your girlfriend!

Are you dating a 12 year old? Watch the movies. The 1982 one with Carol Burnette and Aileen Quinn is far better than the Disney remake-with Kathy Bates. But the new Disney one is closer to the original.

If she is Annie, she will be in ALMOST every scene with substantial dialog.

Mrs. Hannigan is always the best part to steal the show from, however.

Strange that she doesn't know anything about a play that she auditioned for, but, at least she got the part! Anyway, it is about a little orphan girl and her life inside an orphanage which is run by a mean and selfish woman. She gets adopted by a rich man, "Daddy Warbucks" and she lives with him. She still wants to find her real parents and Daddy Warbucks helps her by using his money for clout. They don't find her parents, but plenty of other people come forward to "claim" her and the reward money. That's it in a nutshell, but she will definitely get a lot of lines if it is like any other Annie production I have seen......

Seriously, how could someone never have heard of "Annie"? Especially someone who auditioned for it! Your girlfriend needs to do some research herself and get a clue. She owes it to the other people in the production to do so. And yea, it's a lot of lines. Annie is in every scene.

The character is an orphan girl and is adopted by a rich father. She has a big sheep dog. I wish I had gotten the part. I am a guy.

Why didn't she ask before she went to try for the part? Or after she got the part?
