the n word and cracker?

1. if you are a non- black person and you are confused about the n word...please dont fret just know YOU are to never say it.

2.black people please know by saying the n word you look equally ridiculous and uneduacted even though it is socially acceptable.

3. Cracker is NOT a funny word. That is NOT something to call a white person. B_eaner is not something you call a mexican Ch_ink is not what you call a chinese person ect.

4. Even though only a ignorant person would think of using terms such as cracker and the n word the n word is much worst b/c it was a term used to de humanize blacks. People have fought and died over that word. the n word means your ignorant, your dirt, your just an animal IF that.

no Ni_ger does NOT come from the latin term meaning black ***** comes from the latin term meaning black. Im not saying any word is MORE acceptable cracker is not as bad of a word. same diffrence btw saying screw you and ***** you. there is soooooo much more history behind the n word and the n word is sooooo much more degrading. cracker is a word used to seperate white people ni_gger is a term used to degrade black people..i STILL dont see why people are having a hard time seeing this.

The n word is definently the worse word to say, im white and if someone calls me a cracker it doesn't sound that bad, but if i called somebody black the n word they would 99% of the time be angry at me...

Racial slurs are designed to HURT another....for no other reason; therefore, Blacks are currently using "Cracker" to try to hurt Whites....don't think it is working. But what it is doing is creating an atmosphere that allow Whites to call Blacks "N I Ggers" and not feel guilty about it! This, of course, is only a partial reason, as Whites are also constantly being exposed to Blacks calling each other *** ger in music and film, so I think the word is getting more exposure now than it did 20 years ago! AND, the Blacks are sensitive to the word as well, so the racial slurs are coming not only from fellow Blacks but the rate is increasing publicly from Whites and others. Furthermore, the N word wasn't always as derogatory as you would like to make it out to be. In most of the country it was simply a word to describe Black people, no more derogatory than Black. You can change the words all you want, but if the person saying it doesn't respect you or your culture, than the feeling is the same whether it is *** ger, Black, *****, Colored, or whatever dozens of other slurs there are. Cracker is a slur, Honky comes from whites in the south picking up black prostitutes at their houses, and honking the car horn because they didn't want to get out of the car, and the gals came running, BTW, sort of strange to use that as a racial slur again Whites??

Funny how you spelled out the C word but not the N word. It looks like you think it's more acceptable to insult Cs than Ns. It would really be nice if you would edit your question so you use the letter C instead of spelling out the C word and potentially helping innocent children learn a degergatory term they might not have otherwise learned. And then apologuize for ever spelling the word to start with,.

a. People that use slurs usually can't defend their points but want to make a statement. The same can also be said of the people that constantly cry "racism", "hater", "bigot", etc.
b. The word "n!gger" and "cracker" are equally insulting. We can't pick and choose which words are considered "racist", nor can we pick and choose who can say it and who can't.
c. Actually, the word "n!gger" comes from the Latin word for "Black." (Niger.) It also comes from NIGERia and NIGER the countries. The only reason that people think it is worse then any other name is because it has been in use longer.

P.S. I do agree, however, with the people saying that it should be legal to say all slurs because of the First Amendment.

I am confused too. You see our history is so pathetic that certain words bring about suggestions of it's deplorable memory. Therefore we should never use those words unless we want to hurt and offend. Yet people who were once objects of this nasty word have captured it as a sort of slang that is intended to endear. Whites and Blacks are crazy...don't you see!

I say we all just get over it.
There are thousands of racial slurs and derogatory words to describe many other groups. If you are prejudiced towards a specific group of people, that makes you, well a human being.
We all have bias in some form or another.

I asked a similar question yesterday & was called a racist. I think we should get this ALL out in the open & discuss it & then we can "flush" it. But, we need to deal with it first. If you ban it, & sweep it under the rug, it will crawl back out & bite you in the butt! Let's communicate, people!

I would have to say all words u described should not be used even if one isn't as hurtful, it still is hurtfull. Not just n-word should be avoided all!!!! merry xmas all
