The fact that you are aware of the problem and want to pull your weight is a good start. Set an alarm to get up at a specific time each day. Make it a routine to make your bed daily, wipe the sink after brushing your teeth, hang up the wet towels to dry etc. In the kitchen rinse each dish as it is used to prevent food from drying on it and wash all dirty dishes in the evening so they aren't sitting overnight. In general be aware of your surroundings and clean behind yourself as you go about your daily activities.

Getting a job is a great way of getting into a routine - alternatively, why not take a college course to learn a new skill and re-invigorate yourself?
Regards cleaning, draw up a rota (either on paper on in your head) of the jobs you need to do around the house each day of the week. If you do little and often it's much less onerous than a great big clean once a week.
Reward yourself for doing housework with a small treat (once it's finished) - maybe sitting down to watch a favourite programme or munching a couple of chocolate digestives with a cuppa.
If you're lucky enough to live near to a farm shop or similar, make a date to go out and get some really good ingredients and make some food for you and your partner in the evening. I really enjoy my Saturday wander through town to the farm shop, butchers and bakers.
Good luck!

Yeah, try and chill out !!!!
my ex suffered from OCD.
it involved cleaning, erm...more cleaning and .....more cleaning.
It sure made me ready when i had to look after three on my own tho !!!
i could tell u some stories, oh my gosh !! I had to take over when she wasn't feeling well or when she was expecting. I learned to cook, iron, look after babies, change beds, clean....er ..and more cleaning.
I would recommend taking it in stages. I do that occasionally but as u can imagine i probably now have a lifetime aversion to it!
I think u may have a problem with self esteem. It doesn't matter how enthusiastic he is, u must always remember to just be urself and u should not feel under pressure to match his high standards. It is an entirely different sort of vocation. I admire him for his ethos if that be the case.
so - a nice sensible routine
and plenty of time 4 urself !! Ideal !!
take care, all the best to u both xx

Hi Camilla! What you really need is to find something that makes the work that you hate a little bit more fun. Listen to music when you are cleaning, don't think of it as housework, but as a therapy. There's a really good book called "Sweeping Changes" that will get you started. You also need to get into a healthy routine; like go running or walking in the morning, it gives you a good start on the day. Best of luck!

I had no longer heard of that. thank you for the top! I even have those self cleansing clutter packing containers and "Worlds ultimate cat clutter" works incredibly nicely. it incredibly is a organic corn cob clutter that clumps nicely. the sole element is that I even have tried each little thing, achieved diverse study and my Bengal cat nevertheless dumps on the floor ideal outdoors the clutter container. i've got tried a super type of issues. He pees contained in the container (perched on the part, what a weirdo) yet he looks to think of his poo is a beneficial floor ornament that one and all ought to take exhilaration in. i'm thinking of putting yet yet another clutter container in there, perhaps with this clutter and see if he will take to it. thank you back! P.S. being timber/sawdust, would desire to I compost it?

make a checklist of everything that needs done and in the order that you want to do it. AND DO NOT GET BEHIND! one pan of dishes is not as daunting as five or six. same goes for laundry or anything else.

lazy pigs generally eat, sleep, sh#t in that order and repeat the cycle. Non lazy pigs usually mix in a bit of running and jumping, wallowing in mud, fornicating etc. So perhaps try: jumping> fornicating> running> wallowing in mud> eating > sleeping > sh#tting. etc.
