I'm due in march. Christmas this month and my birthday is in Feb. And I'm having my baby shower in Jan. All anyone talks about getting me is stuff for the baby. I knows it's nice people giving me free stuff to take care of my baby with, and I do appreciate it. But this is my last Christmas before it's all about my son, and my birthday should be about me. I didn't have a birthday at all last year. It was my big 18 and I got out of foster care. I know I'm sounding like a little baby, but I feel it's neccessary for me to atleast have my birthday for me. How do I tell this to people without sounding like a little baby? Christmas and baby shower it's cool, but I want to have a birthday this year!

I know exactly how you feel! I'm due in March also, but the due date IS my birthday. I don't want to be rude by telling people not to get things for my baby. Maybe you should just tell people that want to buy things for the baby to make it separate from gifts for your birthday and stuff. After all, the baby is a whole other person.

I am sorry, but I cannot relate. To me, there is no better present than my daughter, who is due in February (the day before my birthday coincidently). We told everyone just to get stuff for her. Once you become a parent, it is no longer all about you. Kinda forces you to grow up. Be happy people want to help you out. At least they are taking interest PERIOD.

I wish I could understand. It sounds a little whiny. Your life is their life now. I don't understand because I welcomed stuff for her. Even now I want things for her. It just doesn't bother me. I had more than enough for her. I just love getting things for her. The Christmas present I did ask for was a digital camera to take pictures of her!!! I am more than equipped to buy the things she needs it's just more fun to get things for her. You can have a birthday. Do things you can't do when she gets here. Have a night out with the girls. Have a dinner date with your bf or hubby. Those get difficult to do.

No i does not purchase a Christmas present for somebody it relatively is unborn. Now if it have been a little one bathe then i might. yet a Christmas present? tell your Co-worker to get a GRIP! there is not any reason to purchase a Christmas present for somebody that may no longer even right here yet. that's what the little one bathe is for.

I was pregnant for my birthday and luckily my family gave me gift cards. That way I could spend it on myself or the baby if I chose

all you have to do is make sure that you stress that you want stuff for you, like give them a list of stuff that you want for x-mas and dont mention anything about the baby on the list
