hi friends this is really serious so honest answers please. i have a 5 months old baby and i am losing my hair like a crazy. my hair is everywhere isn the bathroom. so can u tell me that is it normal to loss hair after having a baby. and is there anything i can do to stop it. and how long i have to face this problem.help me

extremely normal,my hair was found on the bath,in the sink,the washing bowl etc,very frustrating,dont worry it will soon calm down.

I had a baby 5 1/2 months ago and I am experiencing the exact same problem. Every time I shower my hair falls out so bad it clogs the drain. I asked my Dr about it because I was starting to think something was seriously wrong and he said it is completely normal for that to happen the first year after pregnancy so don't worry, you're ok.

I did the same thing after both of my babies were born. Lost a lot of hair. In fact, I plugged my vacuum cleaner with my hair. You should not go completely bald and if you are really worried about this than I would talk to your doctor about this. I would just hang in there if you can. By the time that your child is close to a year old than this should stop. It is caused by hormones. Good luck.

It *is* normal, don't worry. It tends to happen 3-6 months postpartum, and it does let up, dont worry. Do you remember how fast your hair and nails grew while you were pregnant? Seems to compensate for it later. It will stop, probably soon.
If you're truly concerned and it keeps up for a while, there's no harm in asking your doctor about it to help put your mind at ease.

Yes it is normal. My son is almost 7 months old and Im still loosing lots of hair. It's part of the hormonal change in your body. It will eventually go back to normal.

It is totally normal. And it's amazing, isn't it?
When you're pregnant, your high levels of hormones stop your hair from falling out at the end of its usual "lifespan." But as those levels drop off and your normal cycle reasserts itself, all those hairs start to fall out. By the handful.
There's nothing you can do to stop it, or to hurry it along.
It doesn't last long, relatively-speaking, but it might go on for a couple of months...

Apparently this is normal, and it has to do with your estrogen levels that drop after birth. Take a look at this article. It explains why your are losing hair.

One suggestion I would make is that if you continue to see dramatic hair loss after your baby is 6 months of age, contact your doctor to see if they would recommend that your hormone levels be tested.

after i had my first baby, my hair fell out in big spots on each side of my head. it DID grow back eventually ( a couple months). i found out that hairloss can be caused by loosing weight really fast, so i'm assuming that is what happened to me- and maybe you too.

Oh, it's so scary, but completely normal!
I lost so much that I was convinced that I was going bald, but I didn't.
There's nothing that you can do to stop it, but after a few weeks you;ll notice an improvement :)

Its normal.. I am actually going through it right now.It is a pain i am sorry i am just dealing with it. I still take my pre-natals which seems to help a little bit. Good Luck
