You have to be completely amazing to play in the NBA. He's coming along. He'll get there. College is a lot different from the NBA. Just look at Kevin Pittsnogle. He got cut in the first week by the Celtics.

No, No, NO!! It has nothing to do with injuries or him not being good enough to play in the NBA. I am a big Magic fan and I'm really happy about us drafting JJ. The reason why we drafted JJ was because he was a safety net in case Grant Hill wasn't healthy by the start of the season. And well Hill is healthy so that takes some playing time away from JJ. So why can't JJ be the sixth man you ask. Well we picked up Keith Bogans During the summer because Deshawn Stevenson wouldn't except our contract offer. So Keith Bogans is our backup SG. Why play Bogans instead of JJ? Simple. As you already know JJ's defense is horrible to say the least. And Keith Bogans is one of the Magics best defenders, although his offense isn't that great. And since the Magic struggle defending guards (like yesterday Billups was running all over us) we need Bogans for his defense. It has nothing to do with JJ being bad or him being injured, it's simply that we don't have enough room on the roster for him. However next year will be a different story (Grant Hill is thinking of retiring).

I can name one Duke player that was good in the NBA. Elton Brand.
Anyway, JJ had a back problem and hasn't fully recovered. Also, once he IS 100%, instead of a walk-on 6-3 white guy that's just playing for his scholarship, he's got 2guards like Dwayne Wade and Bruce Bowen sticking all over his skinny 6'3 frame. In other words, he's not the threat he was in college. I doubt he'll be much of a player in the L, especially as he is a huge liabilty on defense. Imagine if they start Nelson and Redick at the 1 and 2 positions. Can you imagine what a team like the Nets would do to them? LOL.

To say JJ isnt fit to play in the nba is just crazy. Dujon is doing okay with the bulls and hes from duke. And jj is a better shooter than him. How could he go from being in the race to be first drafted with adam and then not able to play nba. In due time itll be on.

in college the defense and athleticism is relatively weak besides JJ was the star of his team
in the nba the defenders are too quick and athletic to let him simply burn them over and over
there are plenty of good shooters in the nba but very few are successful the ones that are successful know how to get off their shots

the three point line is farther, and nba defense is harsh on you. Also, the orlando magic are getting good, and their starters are shining so much of the bench is left out more

he just isnt suited to play in the nba. in college he could just camp out behind the three point line and shoot and shoot. then when someone came up on him he would dribble up a few steps and pop the jumper. theres no doubt he can shoot the ball but can he defend, dribble, and pass in a league where everyone is a step quicker and smarter. plus they already got jameer nelson and carlos arroyo..both who are capable guys that can play the point.

He doesn't really play NBA basketball. I'm sure they are converting him to a shooting guard. Name a Duke guard or player who's been good in the NBA.
