I earned an Associates in Legal Assisting, and have been told by Attorneys that my degree is useless and means nothing. I am now back in school to get a degree in Early Childhood Education.

I Know exactly how you feel as my husband studied long & hard for a degree only 2 b told by every job he went for that he had 2 have experience 2 get the job. He ended up having to get a job as an operator then got an eternal job as a technaition and now after 5yrs after he has finished college he is finally working in what he studied.. Some Joke. You cant get experience unless they give it 2 you. Best of luck with yours.

Yes. Many students who go to school don't realize that just getting a degree in a certain field guarantees them a job after they graduate. I found myself in that situation when I graduated and got my masters in general education. I went back and got a doctorates in Law and Society. Now, I can't seem to stop getting people to ask me to go work for them. So, if your case is similar to mine, don't hesitate, and go back to school. Get a part-time job and go to school full time, or vise-versa and see how much more interesting school is after you have been out there in the real world. Not to mention; with all the experience you have, the classes might seem easier. Hope this answers your question.

Music Ed. If you are an instrument major often they only want you part time. If you are vocal, they want you to be a concert pianist. For anyone in this major, learn to play piano well & check into the audition requirements for the school district(s) you will be applying to so you can make sure you are marketable.
