People just use Christmas as an excuse to get more materially and pretend they care. They don't stop to think that it's not really Jesus' birthday and that it's origin is pagan. In fact, you don't hear anything about Jesus anymore; All you hear about is stuff, stuff, stuff.

How fortunate we are to have such a tradition which brings families and friends together, all on the same day, all around the world. Whether you're religious or not, can you find a way to enjoy any part of this beautiful season? If not, why not just wish everyone else the best!

Peace and Merry Christmas!

Christmas means the "Birth of Christ" With that I agree. The current day tradition is nonsense, a waste of money and no doubt celebrated the wrong time of year. The Baby Jesus could not have been born in late December in the hills of Bethlehem. It would be too cold for one thing. Second, Mary and Joseph were going to pay their taxes (end of harvest) so that would have to be late Sept. or Oct.
However, to celebrate the Birth of Christ is not Stupid but man has commercialized it so badly that it does become unbearable.

I don't know about everyone else but as for me and what I think about Christmas..I think it is a beautiful time of the year. It's the perfect time to cuddle close, have an extra day off from the madness of work and spend time with those that mean the most to me. I love the lights and the music, classical ones from bing crosby and so on. Presents and so on are part of it but they don't have to be. I find it is also fun to watch your children enjoying the holiday, whether it be by getting gifts or just seeing their eyes shine bright with the idea of santa coming during the night. Making cookies and setting out the midnight snack for him. I definitely think the hype is too much but there is a joy I get in just having that holiday. *shrugs* Just like any other holiday, it stays mostly the same. But, how you celebrate it or how you try to enjoy it can change and that part can keep it alive and fulfilling.

My preliminary knee-jerk reaction grow to be a convincing 'no.' whether, after giving the Asker the whole thing with regard to the doubt, I revisited the question and found an exciting proposition. below appropriate situations, i could vote 'definite' to this question. persons do not intentionally stay pointless lives....that is in simple terms some thing that happens as we get caught up in the minutiae of survival. On my dying mattress how will i've got self assurance approximately all those desires I in no way allotted time for? If i grow to be compelled to look earlier a board and the two a) recent a plan or b) furnish evidence that i've got tried to realize comprehend that plan then possibly i might desire to agree. needless to say, the board could in simple terms look on the sincerity of the attempt, not if there has been success or not. The grander the dream, the extra probable the prospect of failure. We would not prefer to liquidate the international of that is grand dreamers. in short, this question is a "dying as an Adviser" topic. whether, incredibly of being one's dying mattress and without wish of correcting one's forget of desires, this may well be the kick in the pants mandatory to get human beings off their complacent butts and on the course to self-actualization (despite that is). regrettably, i don't see how this form of device could in high-quality condition into any working society. For any community to function, we could have area of the inhabitants that settles for 'lesser classification status' (back, despite meaning). this form of board could stress each persons to reject roles demeaning to the guy yet serious to the full.

Because it has been a holiday for generations and is a time to we use to get together with all of our loved ones whether we are religious or not spending some quality time with your extended family should be a good thing. The antichristmas crowd really just have too much time on their hands if they complain about christmas when there are other more pressing issues.

If your Christmas is less than satisfactory, that is your fault. I, for one, love Christmas and the unique experience it presents every year as well as the chance to spend time with family and friends. It's a shame you cannot seem to spice yours up at all. Oh, also, Christ is what "justifies" the existence of Christmas. Sigh, I must be tired to waste time on a question that is such obvious bait.

Every family has their own traditions of Christmas. It is not Christmas that is a tradition, because it is a birthday celebration, and if someone think that it is "stupid", then they can choose not to celebrate because it is a Holiday for Christian, other religions do not celebrate it. I take it you weren't raised in a religious, Christian environment.

The same reason that calling you a "human being" justifies your existence, though you continue to be stupid and the same every year.

Just because you do not choose to celebrate does not mean something is "stupid". Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we were all the same.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.

You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart's an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You've got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.

I wouldn't touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.

Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the seasick crockodile.

You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You're a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.

The three words that best describe you, are as follows, and I quote:

You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You're the king of sinful sots.
Your heart's a dead tomato splotched
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.

Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.

You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked hoss.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a three decker saurkraut and toadstool sandwich
With arsenic sauce!

You're the Grinch aren't you or maybe Satan ! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

And BAH HUMBUG to you, too. You must be LOTS of fun to be around. ALL people who know how to enjoy the fun things in life delight in Christmas every year. It sings & dances & sparkles & there are all those wonderful aromas from "happy" kitchens. "Happy" people. "Nice" people enjoy choosing gifts for their friends, (I suspect YOU never give gifts to your friends--if you have any); it's a magic time for little kids (especially those who still believe in Santa Claus). Well, he's stupid, too, isn't he??I went to the store today--blustery & raining, but couldn't resist poking my face in a Christmas tree in front, they smell so beautiful. What a drag you must be. I wouldn't have anything to do with you if I got paid for it. CHEERS MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR nerd bucket.

Edit: Ah well, cynics, losers & downers unfortunately exist, we just put up with them. As for the tradition is COMMERCIAL--nonsense! All a matter of perspective. As you like it, marmelade.Maybe we should get rid of EVERY "special" day--especially the asker's birthday that should never have happened.
Emily--you are GREAT! I'm going to print it out!
