I love that band, they are fantastic and totally amazing, but they are not in any way one of the top 5 most influencial punk rock bands of all time.

Oh they were good...but I would not say that they are top 5

New York Dolls
Television
The Clash
Rancid
While I agree that Bad Religion has influenced a lot of other groups these bands are responsible for setting a lot of the history of punk. Also, there are numerous bands that I didn't list...but these are some of the most prolific.

I think Bad Religion is most definitely underrated.
A lot of people don't know them, even though they have been around for a long time

I've actually never heard their music. I know my son really likes their music and we both like some of their views on religion.
