So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.
Why haven't we heard from them?
Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.
Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.
Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.
Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.
Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.
It is really impossible to know for sure.
The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

A race of aliens known as the Kanamits land on Earth and promise to be nothing but helpful to the cause of humanity. Initially wary of the intentions of such a highly advanced race, even the most skeptical humans are convinced when their code-breakers begin to translate one of the Kanamit's books, with the seemingly innocuous title, "To Serve Man." Sharing their advanced technology, the aliens quickly solve all of Earth's greatest woes; eradicating hunger, disease, the need for warfare. Soon, humans are volunteering for trips to the Kanamits' home planet. All is not well, however, when a code-breaker discovers the Kanamits’ true intentions. Their book, "To Serve Man", is a cookbook.

First, if there are aleins
lets assume there are aliens who are more powerful.
and then, they would only fight with us if we possess some danger to them.
over, we and aliens have to compete for land and other resources
then for sure we would have to fight
and think right now, we just are too weak to possess any danger to them... so, they really dunn care about someone.. who hardly can reach even the nearest planet..
we have to become more powerful to get their interest in us..
so as I assumed that now they are superior, so they would always be ahead of us..
and on the day we would have to compete with them... for sure.. they would kill us@

Albert Einstein once said, "There's an order
to the universe."
Part of that order is a built-in defense system,
that progresses with what we see as evolution.
Every species developes their own survival kit.
Such advancement seems to coincide with a
time pattern.
There's a time for the club, a time for the bow,
and a time for the bomb. I have to believe that
aliens will reach us, just about the time our
technology allows us to reach them.
Hopefully, intelligence and maturity will prevail.

Of course, it is only a matter of time. There must be at least a million livable planets in this Milky way system. We are arrogant to think that no other life is out there but us.

well, think of it this way,if theres no evidence that there is any within billions of miles, and also, because nothing can go faster than light, and the nearest life would probably be atleast 100 or so lightyears away,wy waste so much time getting here?also how would they get the supplies, though this may be a weak argument,
it still has likelyhood

No, and if we did, we would proble lose in a war because if they are "superior" then we will proble have a ton of test done on us or something.
