Why do people continually blurt out one-liners from songs when they have no idea what the rest is?

Possibly they weren't aware they were required to learn all the lyrics before being permitted to quote the hook.

because it gets stuck in your head, and until you can think of the rest of the song, it keeps going round in your head and sometimes just bursts out!
