Unless you have an old video card, you should be able to get better resolution than what you have. The problem is you probably don't have the correct driver.

Right-click on your desktop and select properties. Then click on the Settings tab. Click on the Advanced button. If it says Generic or something like that, you don't have the driver loaded.

For WinXP/2K: (Do this while connected to the internet .)Select the Adapter tab, then properties button, and then driver tab. Click the Update Driver button. It should ask to search the internet - let it. Follow the prompts from then to allow it to update the driver. If this fails, go to the step below.

For 98/ME/95: Determine what your video card is by running winmsd and look for the video information. (Look in the IRQ settings under hardware.) Then go to the manufacturer's site and get the appropriate driver. Follow their instructions for installing it.

Once you have the correct driver, you should be able to get better resolution (colors and sizes.)

You have to open the box and take it out. It should be labelled as the brand. And you will have to find the driver for that to have more color. Otherwise, your system will only think of it as 16 color vga as default for some video cards

Here's a link to a technical description of what a video card is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_card

If you right click on your desktop, then choose properties, you will get a box that pops up saying Display Properties. Then there are a few tabs, and one of them should say, Settings. This is where your color settings are and you can set you screen resolution too.

Hope that helps.
