I have a pet gerbil and I own a VCR. The gerbil climbed inside my VCR and won't get out. There is a VHS cassette in there right now and he still managed to get in. I tried pressing some of the buttons on the VCR hoping that it would make him come out. I pressed play and the video started playing and I heard a large yelping noise, well it was mildy loud atleast, I'm not sure if my gerbil is alright. What should i do?

I am not willing to break my VCR because it is a collector's ALF edition VCR worth a lot of money.

You need to disassemble the VCR and get your pet out of there.

How much is your collectors edition ALF vcr going to be worth with a dead gerbil in it? The smell of the rotting carcas might be a giveaway to prospective collectables buyers. Perhaps propping the door open somehow and praying that he's still alive to get out is in order. Outside of that, a VCR that's been taken apart and put back together to rescue a gerbil is sure to be worth more than one with a dead gerbil in it.. just a thought.

I would break the VCR open and take the poor thing to a vet. Why would you think pushing play would help? The only button worth trying would have been eject...PS buy a DVD player, your gerbil wont fit in there

Take the VCR apart. It will be worth nothing if you have a dead gerbil in it, regardless of how collectable it started off.

WHy the hell would you press play when your gerbals stuck there!? Well, I doubt he's still... you know..

But yeah, take apart the VCR and see if you can still save him/her.
