Racism is still going on today. It's really bad. I don't get why people hate each other because of the colour of their skin; we're all human.

I would not use that word but hear it all the time from blacks about blacks,is it okay to call us honkies.I find racism to be prevalent among the blacks towards whites, thats not okay either!
Slavery is over and I owe nobody for what went on at that time.A slave cost about 1500 dollars and a good workhorse was about 10 dollars,my past relatives were out there with the slaves doing the same work,I'm over it,you should be too.

I'm white and I don't call blacks the N word. No person should be called any derogatory term, but white controlled media continues to distribute black produced comedy and hip hop that only further promelgate stereotypes against blacks. If you really want to end racism, boycott mainstream hip hop.

Plenty of people DON'T use that word. People who use it all the time are either 1) full of hate, doing it deliberately, or 2) ignorant -- they don't follow the news, they don't listen to their teachers, they just feed back the junk they hear from ignorant parents, relatives, neighbors and peers.
I'm a white person who grew up in an all-white community, and I knew at about age 4 that some words were forbidden, and that was one of them.

Huh????
Speaking as a "white", I have never called a black person "that (N) word", as you put it. And it has never occurred to me to do so!!
You're making a HUGE generalization and your assumption that whites and hispanics are all bascially racists is going to cause much resentment.
If you are attempting to touch upon why people have prejudices, then that is another matter.

In reality, very few people use that term. One person says it and blacks assume all people use it. Well, they don't. I don't. And I'm white. On the other hand, blacks use it all the time. If they would stop using it then maybe it would go away!

For hispanics, the translation of black is *****. Its not offending at all in our communities. There are a lot of colored people in latin america and the race is called that way. Also, latin people tend to use nicknames and its common that nickname as well.

I'm white & would never say that word. And honestly there are some whites I'm sure that do but I think they would feel differently if they were in Harlem or Gordan Heights. I think that would be the last time they said that word
