I'm having a funny pain in the middle of my chest that started a couple of hours ago and now my breathing has sped up a bit...

There are n number of reasons for this chest pain... Acidity is one of the possible root cause.

Could be a lot of things. Gas, stress, anxiety attack. Your breathing has probably sped up because you are afraid. If you really think you are in peril, call EMS.

I agree with Louis J. You definitely need to see a doctor to determine the root cause of the pain.

Is correct to treat this seriously because it can be a minor heart attack. Consult a doctor and maybe go for an "ECG" examination for that peace of mind. Take care !
