Yes, of course it's something I'd like to see happen but, it never will. Why? Because politics is just that, politics. It's always one party against the other in order to divide Americans into supporting either one or the other party. One party has to be all right on every issue and the other party has to be the bad guys.

For instance, the democrats want you to believe that they're the only party for the "working class middle American," women and minorities. They want you to believe that life doesn't begin until the very birth of the baby and consequently it's always a woman's right to chose because that mass of cells in the woman's uterus is not really alive.

The republicans want you to think that if you're a democrat, you're a liberal leaning so far to the left that in all actuality, you're really a borderline socialist if not a full fledged communist. Democrats, in their way of thinking, are not only unpatriotic, they're immoral as well because they believe in killing babies and don't believe in God. And the biggest myth about the republicans is that they're against taxation and favor less government. You always hear them touting the mantra: "tax and spend liberals."

And the stereotypes go on and on. Infact, you have the likes of Rush Limbaugh and FOX's Shawn Hannity who are indeed full time propogandist and champions for the Republicans while the rest of the mainstream media is alledgedly biased towards the left.

The short answer is no, Republicans and Democrats will always be looking for "mud" to sling at each other and in this way, they'll always be able to avoid the issues that truly affect the average American citizen. Good-by middle-class America.

Let's face it, the reason for all the dissension is that it works, when McCain beat Bush in the 2000 primary they spread rumors about his service, and they won. When John Kerry was beating Bush in the campaign, they swiftboated him, and they won. Even this year, with the Democrats holding all the cards and opposition to the conduct of the war, most of the races were very close. Richard Nixon was elected President with lies about a secret plan to win the war in Vietnam and a lot of dirty tricks, and was reelected when Watergate had already been reported. It took America 6 years to figure out the utterly incompetent George Bush. What were they thinking about, that 300 dollar tax return? That's pretty cheap for your vote.

Respect, yes. Be honest,no. They must respect each other. They are two legs of the same pair of pants.

As for something I would like to see happen. How about a third party that would act like we have a Constitution and Bill of Rights. And finally realize we are a Republic and not a Democracy.

It would be wrong for them to respect each other. Democrats are against killing in war but are in favor of aborting live babies ( 1.5 million last year FACT!!!!!!). Democrats think that the U.S.A. can talk with the terrorists even when the terrorists have been quoted as saying that the peace lovers will be killed first. Some democrats say we are heating the earth's atmosphere and others say we are headed for an ice age. These are just a few of the examples on how twisted Democrats and liberals are. So therefore, no dialog with twisted people. think strait, be real men and women and then there may be dialog.

Actually they do it all the time. When ever their is a way for them to embellish themselves, or their contributors lives they all get on the band wagon. If there is a bill that will convince the American public to give up more of there personal freedom, and money they make it a bi-partisan effort. I would like to see them all go to prison, and forfeit their belongings, for betraying the constitution, and the American public.

I would like to see it happen, but I am not sure it will. Personally I can easily have a respectful conversation with someone of the opposite party. But in Washington the politics of it will never let it happen. All people in Washington care about is getting votes...and to do that they have to convince you the other guy sucks....

Have you noticed how many liberal bashing questions and statements there are on here? If that is any kind of indication, no. Our country seems to be split on how things should work. One group seems to be in favor of personal wealth and defense spending, the other seems to be more interested in social issues that affect America. I doubt the two will ever agree.

Yes, if people who are in the dialogue can agree to disagree. People need to leave their egos at the door when they do this. The same rule applies to religious debates also
