He's crate trained and everything, but he's only 5 months old. He will only be with me for a couple of weeks anyway, until I leave for basic, then my mom is keeping him. Should I just sneak him in? I would pay the deposit, but they won't let me because he's not a year old. Isn't that dumb?

Yeah, my mom can keep him, but he's like my baby. He almost never barks, so I'm going to see if I can get away with it. They said they take pets and so I went ahead and put my deposit down and then a week later I was talking to her and she said he has to be a year old. I have a cat too, but he's loud, I didn't want to risk him. And it's a 1 bedroom, that place would always stink.

I bet it's because they believe the pet is probably not completely potty trained and don't want to take the chance because it gets expensive to clean and also the smell doesn't go away that easy.

It is dumb. Can you find somewhere else to live? If not, can your mom take him early if you run into problems at the apartment?
