The simple answer is -- the ocean has no drain off or place for its water to go, so salt accumulates. Most lakes have rivers and streams that feed into and out of them. That is how they stay at basically the same level. Lakes that don't drain off are salty, like the Great Salt Lake of Utah. Evaporation, too, acts in the equation.
It's a fascinating study. Find out more in the best of books about how oceans are formed, lakes get salty, or not...there is so much to learn. I, frankly, never get enough.

while water is evaporated (in spite of the source) it would not take salt with it. this means that rain would not many times impression no remember if water is salty or clean. Oceans are the combating element for all clean waters, so any salts or minerals they %. up alongside the way finally end up there.

It's the same as porridge but thinner . Some Porridge is very salty but then you might get another bowl and it might actually have a sweet or 'honeydew' flavour . Best porridge come from Aberdeen - Mrs McGarth 53 Sibbely Lane - fantastic !

Actually, lakes do have salt water. Salt water is more dense than fresh water. So all the salt water sinks to the bottom, while the fresh water stays on top.
