A spellchecker is useful to check for typos, or if you can spell already but have minor questions that bother you (like whether it is seperate or separate). If you really need help on spelling, the dictionary is where you should look.

Personally... I live on the spell checker! I am a HORRIBLE speller. I call it "Creative spelling."
And I got your message on my last question. I was going to ask if someone would pray for us...

I think the spell check can identify the sequences of letters in words and make correction suggestions based on those sequences.
