i got the ps3 and i was wondering if the games you download.....?

Ps3 has a online store that lets you download classic ps1 games onto your hardrive which you can upload onto your psp. i was wondering if you can play these games on the ps3 itself

why would you buy the PS3??????? It must suck, also knowing that you are out over $700 after tax, and buying a game. But i really don't know the answer.
