The average punting distance is about 45 yards.
The average Kicking Distance is about 35 yards. This season there has been a 62 Yarder by Matt Bryant of the Bucs and a 60 yarder by Bironas of the Titans. Those are in the top 4 of all time. The longest is by the Broncos kicker Jason Elam and it was 63 yards.

As far a punting goes, I would have to think about 40 to 50 yards is fairly average. I would not really have a clue what the average length of a field goal is. The longest field goal ever kicked was by Jason Elam of Denver which is 63 yards. Two players have hit from 60 yards out this year. Anything over 55 yards is really good.

Correction: Everything over 50 yards is good.

You are considered a decent kicker if you can consistently hit 40 -45 yard field goals.

about 45-60 yds. The smaller kickers usually kick for fewer yds and the taller and more fit kickers kick the farther ones
