Mount carpet remnants or fabrics like wool or nylon on a board. You can use an easel to stand the board on if you have one; or lean it against a wall. You need low humidity conditions for best results. Nylon or wool socks or latex balloons work well. Rub them together to build up a static charge and stick to the board. They should stay if conditions are right.
You could also try having 2 pieces of carpet and you and a partner could wear socks and rub your feet on the carpet and touch the tips of your fingers together. Dimming the lights in the room may allow you to see the spark of the static charge as your fingers touch.

bend water

Open the water faucet till there is a smooth thin stream running. Run a plastic comb through dry clean hair. Move the comb near the water, but do not let it touch. the water stream will bend as the charged comb acts on the polar water molecules. If the comb touches the water that static charge will be dissipated and it won't work so keep the comb dry.

Charge up two combs and you can get the water to bend in opposite directions like the letter 'S'.
