..... is it so hard to understand that Italy will never have a player like Zidane, you have 4 stars, but you will never have Zidane, Italy has a lot of great players, but do you really know who is Zidane............ from 1998 to 2003 Zidane took football to the higher level, his style of play wasn't seen before, it was pure beauty watching him play, he has all awards that football player can have and even now when he is 34 years old he was the best player in the WC2006, but Golden Ball 2006 was just a cream on the top of the cake, it's nothing compared to his whole career....... Zidane used to be what Ronaldinho is now, he was on the top of the game, almost unstoppable and a riddle for every opposite team, there is not a football player, coach or any football expert that doesn't have maximum respect for him......... his head-butt doesn't change nothing, do you really think that because of the head-butt all that he did for football will be forgotten......... 50 years from now, Italy WC2006 team won't be remembered as one of the best in the world, Zidane will be !!!!!!!
My Q would be................. When will you (Italians) except this fact???????

um...Zidane was absoutely not the best player in the World Cup 2006, I don't think acting by himself considers France a "good" team, that is definately not team work, that is just a one man team. As for Italy they worked together and even though they had the scandal going on in Italy, they were consistant through the whole tournament and won. Do you really think France would have done so well if they were involved in a scandal at home. I think not.
People have different opinions and for some he may not be, not just Italians, there are many other's who think the same. The real question is, when will you accept the fact that Italy won the World Cup and Cannavaro the Ballon D'Or??

I don't except anything what you said is 100% not true!!
You can't except the fact that France will never win World Cup against Italy.. and don't have players like Fabio Cannavaro, Paolo Maldini, Roberto Baggio, Gianluigi Buffon.. and the list goes on!

i am a fan of team italy at the WC2006. always has and always will be but i think i totally agree with you.
i have been a fan for the italians for so long and i long to see a player of zidane's caliber from italy. he is the best player ever. he is unique. he has all the credentials and no one can dispute that.
i wonder how long would i have to wait for the italians to have a player like zidane.

Sasan where did u suddenly pop up from!?!? go back to ur cave !!! and Maradona Jr , they wont accept the fact that Zidane is a legend and there will never be anyone like him in the whole world, and u know why!? Cuz the highlight of the worldcup was Zidane and everything about him, from the head-butt to the player of the worldcup award to everything, the highlight wasnt Italy winning the worldcup, Zidane took the spark away from italy winning the title.

Actually Italy is considered to be an All-Star team, it has great players in every position. Roberto Baggio was more dominate than Zidane in every thing. And to your question, Italy will always be the best and will always be the best in the years to come but Zidane will be remebered as an *******.

FOR THE FIRST TIME,
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
It's high time the Italians accepted the fact. Where in the world could they find a player who could create magic with just a deft touch of the ball with his foot. Zidane is a legend and it has to be accepted. Ask, Maradoa, ask Pele, ask Beckenbauer, Van Basten, platini and even any of those italian footballers they will all say that Zidane is a legend.
I find it totally insane that one should even utter the name ZIDANE with players like Materazzi, Pirlo, and the other so-called Italian legends.
Zidane has won many hearts all across the world and not just in France. His heroics in the World Cup98 in FRance was the first time everyone was spell-bound by his magic. 1000s of miles away, even I, in Chelsea, England was mystified by Zidane's magic. He was the only reason I fell ''in love'' with football.
In say 15 years will we remember these Materazzis, Cannavaros, Del Pieros, or any of the present Italians. Highly unlikely. But we will always remember one man who changed the history of football.(*weep*weep*) Here's a list of my all time greats:
1)Pele and Maradona
2)Zidane and Beckenbauer
3)Johann Cruyff
4)Lev Yashin
5)Michel Platini
6)Ferenc Puskas
7)George Best
8)Paolo Rossi
9)Ronado
10)Paolo Maldini
Well, that reminds me of a few lines from ''Julius Caesar'' by Will Shakespeare, here Antony eulogises Brutus in these words
His life was gentle and the elements
So mix'd in him, that nature might stand up
And say to all the world. ''This was man!''
