What I am asking is, roughly how long is the entire epic of gilgamesh? Where can I find the entire epic if I wanted to read it?

The reason I am asking is that somebody told me that it was a huge piece of work, volumes long.....and that is has older tales that parallel the Hebrew scriptures. Any truth to this?

I have attached a link to an online copy below. I copied and pasted it into a Word document, and it was about 50 pages, but a lot of the lines are only a word or two long. My guess, if it were in paragraphs, it would probably be 30 pages long, or so (about 17,000 words).

there was a new translation of it that is supposed to be pretty good that is not very long at all. it is not like beowulf or the iliad or something. it is much shorter. they had the new translation at barnes & noble, it was out everywhere. I bet you could find it online at one of the major bookstores online, amazon, half.com, borders, barnes & noble should all have it.
