Yes - temporary internet files are stored.
Also, if you download pictures or videos, they are stored.
Also, if you allow cookies, your computer will retain the cookies.
To clear these, in IE7, go to Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History, Delete.
You can also go to the temporary folder where you downloads are kept and clear this folder, as well.

Every intenet SEARCH you've done
is still in the search bar.
Easy to see when you type in a letter of the alphabet
and then click the little side arrow.
ALL the search engines do that now.
1. DISable Auto Complete in Content Advisor
INTERNET EXPLORER window > TOOLS >
Internet Options > tab for Content
frame for Content Advisor.> and then click the AutoComplete button.
When enabled This feature saves you time when you are typing Web addresses or completing entries on Web pages, by displaying a list of previous matching entries as you type.
If your pc Adminstrator has set a password
you may not be able to get-in without the password.

You Internet History is stored on your hard drive. But you also have Temporary Internet files and cookies that have some correlation to the sites you've visited. You can clear all of these by clicking on Tools | Internet Options
