you should be ok chick i had to have a cut with my first as i had a vontuse(if that spelt correctly lol)delivery they made a bit of a **** up and i had infections after infections due to that........i felt the same as you are now when i had my second daughter i tore again but it didnt seem to feel that bad "down there" so i dont know whether thats because it has been stretched before i am now pregnant with #3 and i have been told by people that if (i dont wont to sound gross or anything hun honest) but if you massage that area before and when you are in labour it should be easier for you so when i am in labour i am definately gonna give it a try lol good luck with everything hun i hope i helped a little bit and i didnt mean to sound so gross either lmao xxxxxxxx

I've worked with several doctors before so trust me. The first thing you have to do is to relax and not worry about it at all. Think about it, there're millions of us here and someone gave birth to all of us so your not the first woman to give birth a second time.So just relax.... you might tear just slightly,a bit more than that or not at all. Keep in mind that this is your second baby and therefore the Uterus and vigina are somewhat used to the stretch. This time the baby should come out much easier then your first delivery. Don't think about what's going on now but about the time when you'll have your baby in your arms, then everything (the pain) will be over. You should also consider the fact that if you are a DEE, and if you married a DEE, then your baby is gonna be a DEE DEE DEE!!!!!!!

I had episiotomies with all of my kids because my skin there wouldn't stretch. They will probably just have to do another episiotomy. BUT on The other hand my sister in law had one with her first 3 children and when she had her 4th baby she said "don't cut me." SO they didn't and she barely tore at all. 1 stitch. Good luck and I hope this helps.

i had an episiotomy with my first child,i have since gone on to have another 3 children and have not torn or needed stitches after giving birth to them.i'm only 5ft and weigh 8 and half stone, for some reason because of this, doctors thought i wouldnt be able to deliver naturally, but my 4th son,who is now 11mths old was born weighing 8lb 4oz,no tearing at all.

My wife actually tore during the delivery of our daughter (our second child) and had a slight episiotomy. But our last son (our third) she had no problems down there at all...I think every pregnancy and every delivery is different. Your doctor should be able to take care of things and with you and your husband make decisions as you go...

Just talk to your doc...

Your delivery team will be aware of your previous birth history and what happened during it. You have no need to worry as the majority of Mums to Be have to have this procedure done on subsequent deliveries.
May I suggest that you ask your Doctor or Midwife and inform them of your fears as they are the best equipped to deal with your worries.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

From what I understand, the likely-hood of tearing in the same spot is extremely rare. Because this is a subsequent pregnancy, your vagina has been "stretched" already and will allow more room for baby to pass.

Good Luck and Congrats!!!

I had an episiotomy with my first baby and when i had my second 16 months later i tore in 4 different spots. i didn't tear where i had my episitomy i tore up higher. you cant feel it when it happens but the healing is pretty tough. don't worry about it too much. i didn't tear with my third which is weird cuz he was my biggest baby.

If the doctor controls the delivery of the head well, and gives your perineum time to stretch, you can give birth just fine with no cut. I never let a doctor cut me. I delivered a damn near 9 lb. baby with NO cut and no tearing and I was pain free thanks to my epi, but able to sense the parts that mattered. Doctors need to know what they are doing that's all.
