Looks like income and education are both good predictors
see reference below. But in my own marriage - I would say determination to make it work, patience and hard work were the main factors

not A) I know people with a very low income that have great marriages.

not B or D) Although education is good... no, not just good but great. and is something everyone should strive for. (To learn more) it is not going to be a determining factor in how a marriage will work out.

so that leaves C) which again I don't agree with. Both People young and old have great marriages.

It is not even how long you dated before marriage.

What I believe is the best predictor of a stable marriage....

Communication!!! how much the two communicate with each other.

Of course that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.

I don't think there is a real predictor. Some make it long term despite all of these. And others can't stick it out when all of the predictors say they will. I think it is based on the individuals and how much they are determined to make it work.

I hate to think that any of these are the best predictors, but my guess is A) family income.
But i really think it is a combination of B and D, i think that to be successful most couples have to have a similar level of intelligence. Although i have seen successful marriages where this is not true, but i would think it makes the most sense.

Of these options:

(C) is correct. Age at time of first marriage is the most consistent predictor of marital success (if you define success only as a non-disrupted marriage).

"Consistent stability" is a myth; don't let anyone tell you otherwise... I'm sacrificing my time, sanity, sleep, and energy. I can't remember a time in the past 2 years where I haven't had to worry about whether I'll stay employed.

D - an educated husband will maintain a job with adequate income for his family, therefore alleviating worry of family income AND the wife could continue with her education because she won't fee the pressure to work.
