Plan B is basically a double or triple dose of regular birth control pills. It doesn't "kill an unborn baby," though.
It makes your body inhospitable, so it's less likely that a fertilized egg, if there even IS a fertilized egg, will implant.
That's why Plan B only works in the first 48 hours after unprotected sex.
Many women don't realize they're pregant right away, usually because they aren't trying to get pregnant, and they continue to take birth control pills for a cycle or two. The very vast majority of those babies turn out just fine.
But if your friend is taking massive doses of birth control pills in an attempt to induce a miscarriage, she's not being very smart. High doses of the hormones in the pills can cause blood clots, strokes, and other very dangerous ailments.
She needs to talk to a DOCTOR.

There is no evidence of harm to baby from taking birth control pills (in normal doses) during early pregnancy. Many women don't realize they are pregnant right away and continue to take their pills for a few weeks. If the pregnancy tests were negative, you almost certainly aren't pregnant. It's not unheard of to skip an occassional period on the pill. If you miss your next one, or if you didn't take all your pills on schedule last pack, or start having pregnancy symptoms, check with your doctor.

I don't know if taking birth control pills will actually kill a baby but think about it if it doesn't kill the baby it probably will cause severe damage and birth defects to the baby. Ask her if she really wants to be responsible for the damage done to the fetus or for killing the baby if it does work. The baby didn't ask her to lay down with some guy not thinking or caring about the consequences so why kill it. It's completely innocent where as she isn't. What if her parents had an abortion. She seems like a very irresponsible young woman.

I think the pill works by releasing hormones into the body to stop the release of an egg. I *think* that's how it works, I haven't done any research.
Anyway, with the pill counter-acting the natural response of the body to increase hormones and other chemicals, the pill may make the pregnancy unstable. However, you've got to realise that some women on the pill get pregnant and don't realise it so continue to take the pill until they realise, which could be weeks or months. A lot of these women will go on to have healthy, normal babies. I'm not sure if the pill will increase risk of disabilities etc...but as a precaution I would tell her to stop immediately. It might not end her pregnancy, but it could harm the foetus and that would leave her a young mum with a disabled child.
She needs to go to a Dr, talk to an adult she trusts, and get some serious advice. Nothing is going to be as effective as a good talk with a knowledgeable adult about her choices, and perhaps an abortion.
Also...keep her away from pro-lifers until she's made her decision and gone through with it. We don't know the circumstances that led to her pregnancy and it's shameful that we assume she's too young to deal with sex and childbirth. Young Mum's are just as good as older Mum's, and let her know that there is support if that's the way she wants to go. It'll be hard though...any choice she makes is one she's going to have to live with. Good luck to you, and her.

No, I don't think so. It can possibly cause other problems like birth defects. It sounds like your friend really needs some help. I don't mean to sound judgemental or anything, just someone who cares. There are other options, like adoption. I hope that she gets the help she needs and it sounds as if she has a really good freind in you just for trying to find an answer to this question. I wish you both the best of luck... and even more for her baby. I wish there were a way I could be in contact with you and talk more about this with you both. A caring friend.

No birth control pills will not kill an unborn fetus. Birth control pills prevent ovulation and fertilization of an ovum not create abortion. Your "friend" needs to go to the doctor if she wants an abortion and before she is 20 weeks in gestation.

How far along is she?
Birth control pills basically trick your body into thinking it is already pregnant so no eggs are released. I don't think its a good idea for either the female or the unborn baby, but I don't think it will cause a spontaneous miscarriage.
She needs help. Can you get a mom/older sister/ adult to talk to her?

No she wont kill it. If she just found out she is pregnant she wont be doing anything to the baby. Alot of people do this cause they dont know they are pregnant. But if she continues to take them like 1 to 2 months into her pregnancy she can cause her baby to have some major birth defects.

so, your friend messed up, and now she's trying to kill her BABY? Your friend does need help. Theres other ways to handle it, ie- adoption. If she didnt want a baby, why is she having sex? If she doesnt kill her poor unborn baby, she'll give birth to a child that will probably be mentally handicapped and have problems for life, because its mother was irresponsible and cruel.
