The poor man's way is to air the tires down to about 7 or 8 lbs.
This makes the tires effectively wider, as the sidewalls are down on the sand, providing flotation.

Probably not a good idea to get all wild and crazy out there with the tires under-inflated, but it will get you un-stuck.

Make sure to carry a portable inflator that plugs into the lighter socket to air them back up later.

I dont know how you can be getting your truck stuck on the beaches... as long as you're in 4wd and don't stop in the softer sand you'll be just fine. Personally I've never gotten my truck fully stuck in the sand before. I've gone through some really soft stuff that wouldn't let me go any farther, but i've always been able to back out of it. Best suggestion I could say is make sure you have enough power to still turn your wheels if you get mobbed down in the sand in 4wd.... best suggestion to prevent that is never let off your gas once you're moving. If you're stuck, someone earlier stated lettin air out of the tires so that more tread contacts teh terrain... this always helps... and if that dont help, grab all the sticks, twigs, logs, whatever you can to put under your tires. Lets hope you've also got decent tires... I my road tires / all terrains are BFG 31x10.5's and they do great in the sand surprisingly... road tires do not however, in case you didn't know. ( i dont know you so i'm going to throw in as much pointers as i can ) But the best tires in my opinion that i've never seen get stuck in sand are swampers.

I drive a '87 ranger 4x4 with 31's, stock height and I have yet to get that thing stuck... i prefer mud though =/

good luck, and pedal to the metal...

Sounds like gear oil from the transmission or transfer case. Good luck with that one!

Transmission fluid!!! Probably obtained some transmission pan or axle damage from being stuck. Maybe you should try a dune-buggy.

you probably blew something in your transmission stomping on the gas. try getting the car to rock back and forth by switching between forward and reverse and don't give it more gas until you have enough momentum to get you out of there and not so much you jsut start to spin again. also try leaving going in reverse instead of th way you were going.
