Various states and professional organizations have ethical standards. Those standards include that a person that appears to be having life issues that are interfering with their life be referred to where they may find assistance.
There are no quick answers to serious problems. Help for people is often a long-term solution that encompasses months if not years.
To not offer someone the best advice would be unethical, even if some people find that advice boring.

One of the most important things in life is to be happy. How can you be happy if you have serious issues that you need to work on? And if you do need to work on some things, a proffenial is your best choice.
