The expert opinion is one year.

With my three children it was 13 months, ten and a half months and eleven and a half months and I used an Anywayup cup.

My pediatrician allowed cows milk after 1 year of age and recommended whole milk unless weight is an issue. I just started offering it instead of the girl's formula in a sippy cup. He might not like the change at first but will develop a taste for it quickly.

I put my daughter on cows milk at 10 months because formula milk made her a sicky baby, but as long as your baby is eating a good diet that means he gets all his vitamins and minerals he needs, he's not so reliant on formula, but the health professionals do say at least a year old

It is best to give whole milk from age 1-2 and then give 2%, 1% or skim. Until age 2 they need the extra fat for brain development. When I started my son on whole milk I mixed his formula like normal and added a little whole milk to get him used to it.

An 11 month old will not get the nutrients needed from cow's milk.
If money is an issue because of the cost of formula, use both.

You are supposed to wait until they are 1 but it probably wouldn't harm to give it him any time now in place of his formula milk.
I started my son on it about 2 weeks before his 1st birthday simply because I ran out of formula. He has a bottle when he wakes up and one when he goes to bed and sometimes he has a drink of milk instead of juice or water during the day.
I would avoid the follow on milks as they are just a way for the manufacturers to get more money out of us parents! (My health visitor told me they are a waste of money too)

they recommend pasteurised (full fat) cows milk from 1 year semi skimmed from 3 years and skimmed is OK from 5. but id keep your baby on infant formula for as long as you can, try the follow on milks as they are full of calcium and extra vitamins and minerals including iron. just try changing his morning bottle see how he goes on it if he seems OK with it then give him the same at his next feed time, if he has reaction don't give him any more and consult your health care assistant.

When he is a year old. And don't give your baby soya milk unless you have a good medical reason to suspect he is allergic to cows milk - most soya milk won't have all the good stuff that he needs.

Usually you have to wait for one year and then the best way is to mix it half and half [formula/cows milk]. If you are nursing it maybe hard because cows milk isn't as sweet tasting as breastmilk. Make sure to use whole milk. Best of Luck!
